heheheh no we didn't go for two tribes... only tiffy's fren fernanda went... no one wanted to go and tix were $100!!! here's a detailed account of what happened that day. or rather the story of what happened before that day...
everyone reads about it and goes yeah let's go! as the date draws nearer, bert and tiffy pull out of the 2tribe equation. aku is put off by lack of friends at big rave. muk is still enthusiastic. as such, he scores medication for said night of ravin'. no one makes any move to buy tickets at $85 each. as the night draws nearer, the temptation is too much. muk opens a cap and we sniff. sniff sniff. we then fall asleep a couple of hours later after a very boring night of anticipation with no results. it's finally here! 2tribes is here! muk and i walk all the way from bertie wertie's to the arena after going through the carnival by the river, and find out that they don't accept atm cards! (australia is fucked up like that) so we walk back to the city (about 10-15 min away) and we draw the money out. i then get paranoid that i might get paranoid and would rather go home. so we decide to walk back to bertie's wait for the call. the call never comes and we trip with bert instead. the call comes much later and we smoke up like nobody's business. for the rest of the night we watch movies and laugh till our insides ached. in light of such fun and happiness with good frens, screw 2tribes.
so... what's this about dj shadow? why are all the fantastic gigs going on while i'm away? is this some sort of conspiracy? first its underworld (or undieworld haha) then now dj shadow (to be said the same way that guy says it on endtroducing - dee--jaay shaadohh.)? fuck dis. anyways i be hoping that beth orton and zwan will come here... heheheh...
have to go make me some dinner now. will post again soons.

Frontallabs Forum - Composing of dance tracks
A post on the forums by Case Woo, much respected figure in local dance music.
Here are some tips on the terminologies we've used so far and to help you better understand some roles. So, in the simplest of terms and in my own words...
AUDIO ENGINEER - Someone who makes music sound good and professional, or adds a final touch to a piece of audio work done by the composer. This guy twiddles with the EQ and compressor a lot.
COMPOSER/MUSIC ARRANGER - Someone who creates music from thin air. It's equivalent to magic.
PRODUCER - Someone overlooking the audio engr and composer, and also manages the project. He has the most say in how a piece of music will turn out to sound.
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - Da guy wid da money and he does not necessarily need to even know what music is suppose to mean.
COFFEEBOY - The humble kid who serves coffee in a recording studio but secretly learns the skills of the trade. After some years, some go on to be professionals themselves.
AUDIO POSERS - Audio/Sound Engineering grads/undergrads who walk into a recording studio and think he knows all because he has a degree. None of them make it in the industry. Only the humbled ones do.
